Hi JMSTEVENS, Thanks for your question! We use two different boats at Master Divers, the bigger one holding 20 passengers and the smaller one holding 10 passengers. All of our divers can comfortably dive aboard and specially designed tank racks and dive stations mean each diver has a place. We carry oxygen, first aid and spares to ensure your trip is safe and hassle free. Tea, coffee, fresh water, fruit and cookies are available free of charge throughout your dive trip. A marine toilet is available for your comfort and there’s an ample dry area to store your belongings too. A large sun deck tops the bigger boat with a shaded area so that you can relax between dives. Our compressor is in the dive centre and while this means the team move tanks each day it also means your dive will be a quiet one.

Thanks for your more in depth feedback, we do completely understand your point of view. As with all comments and feedback of this kind we'll be sure to pass on to PADI. The main issue is that all paperwork and the medical is fairly generic, and designed as a fail safe to ensure all possible eventualities are covered. We have no choice in the wording ourselves, like every other dive centre we simply use the relevant PADI forms for each respective course/program. This is why in all our emails we always attach a copy of the form so customers have seen it in advance and know if they need a consult or not prior to diving...although obviously this is not possible with walk in bookings. But unlike the trip you took in Australia, everything is explained and forms filled prior to getting on the boat, and I certainly agree that not completing the medical until it's too late to not take the trip was unfair, so that could be worth raising with the company you dived with. The obvious problem with getting divers to self certify whether pre-existing conditions/ injuries are dive related or not, is that many divers - especially those who are brand new or inexperienced - may not know, and therefore there is a huge risk that those who should not be in the water proceeding with training. Hence it is much easier to be strict with the formalities, than risk accidents and injuries. As I said I will pass on your feedback, but I fully expect this to be the answer from PADI too. Hi Jennifer, Booking ahead by at least a few days is recommended, especially if you have a preference for a particular schedule. But you can also pop in on arrival, no problem. As Jessie H says, we managed to get them started the next day! Just be aware that we may not be able to guarantee your preferences at short notice if you have not booked in advance, especially in high season and busy periods each side of the monthly full moon party on neighboring Koh Phangan :) Many Thanks :)
