Hello, it is possible to cross the creek in certain areas from the access point at Crescent Moon. Once you have crossed, you can follow the Cathedral Rock trail. Thank you!

Fishing is not common at Crescent Moon, but is an option. Please contact Game and Fish to inquire about the fishing requirements (eg. fly fishing, catch & release, etc.). Thank you!

We do have souvenir maps that we sell for $1.00, but we also have photo copied inserts that we can give for free that have directions on them. Buddha Beach is pretty easy to find, but the hosts are happy to assist with directions. The most iconic vantage point for Cathedral Rock is from Red Rock Crossing (opposite end of the park). We just finished installing almost 40 interpretive panels throughout the different locations, so Crescent Moon has updated information including map panels.

I am not sure because it is a larger place as you walk into the park. There did happen to be a wedding party there taking pictures. There seems to be some open areas that I believe could handle your chairs and tables. Beautiful place. Good luck and congratulations!

The main paths are concrete sidewalks so it is not a problem. Past the fence line towards unobstructed views of Cathedral Rock the path is packed dirt, but again not a big problem as long as you don't try to cross the creek. I have pushed my mom up to Clingmans Dome TN which was only a few hundred yards but went straight up the mountain. This was (pardon the pun) a picnic compared to that as it is flat terrain and there are van accessible handicapped parking spaces. The bigger problem than accessibility on our visit was two young women who chose to ignore the signs banning public nudity and stripped their clothes off at the suppposed vortex. I don't know if they just really liked each other, they were European, worshipping some earth goddess, or what, but that is a sight you may not want to see yourself, or definitely not a grandchild pushing the chair. If you want an over view of the entire red rock region, you can drive up to the airport and park in the gravel lot for $5 and take the crosswalk over to the airport overlook which is a large fenced flat area.

The daily parking pass is $10 per vehicle up to 5 people for entry for 1 day. They do not list a short term pass as a possibility at this location, only year round pass. The fee however to walk-in is only $2 per day.

Check sunset and the time the park closes. You have to be inside before the park closes. You also have a little walk to the photo sight depending on where you park that could take you maybe 15 or 20 minutes to get there and get set up. So you need to be at a min 30 minutes before sunset. There isn't a lot of space at the spot to stand, so if others are there before you, you're not going to be able to get down there. Good Luck

As the operator, I think it's awesome. However, we also have to consider the US Forest Service and their rules. While commercial photography requires a permit from the US Forest Service, my understanding is that non-commercial photography is totally OK on public lands, just have a care around any weddings going on there.
