The Vvedensky church, is also known as the temple in honor of the Entry of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is located in the central square of town, at the intersection of Sovetskaya and Karl Marx Streets. It is a colourful church, which is predominantly a raspberry shade with white borders and a blue roof. The church is in four sections; the first is the three tiered bell tower, which had a pyramid shaped roof and a small orthodox cross atop. This section was the main entrance to the church, which was under a wooden portico with beautiful carved wooden columns.
The second section seemed to be a small area where worshipers were greeted. The third section was the main assembly area, It had porches on either side, and had a roof topped by a gold plated onion dome and orthodox cross. The last section was the rear of the church, and seemed to be a small chapel, as it had crosses in the three windows and a small gold cross, which is only visible if you walk to the back. The church was built between 1890-1894. We were hoping to get more information on the church, but we visited early in the morning when it was closed, as there is a metal gate and perimeter fence surrounding the church.
We took photos from the gate and the square. The best photo is probably done from Lenin Street, by walking across the wooden bridge and turning left. This area gives a great view of the church, with the Tyulyuk river rushing by. In a small town of not many attractions, this church is a must see. After visiting the church, the small war memorial in the central square is an interesting visit.
