There are few places that allow horseback riding close to populated areas. OSU has made this beautiful area available for multiple use and we are incredibly grateful.

We enjoyed a beautiful fall hike in the arboretum. The trails are well laid-out, trail markers are clear, and the forest is beautiful. However, this is not an educational facility for the general public as many arboretums are.

There are several different trails you can wander off to find your way back to the parking lot. There is s well-maintained trail, where the poison oak is kept at bay, or you can go onto the less-maintained trails and take your chances. You will see different plants along the way, and lots of moss and lichens, as this is considered a rain forest. Our 9 year old grand son enjoyed the 2 -1/2 mile casual walk with us.

We hiked the one-mile trail loop that illustrates the difference between a managed new-growth forest and an old growth forest. Beautiful area with an easy trail.

We went here for the first time on Saturday. We had no idea how long it was. 7 mile loop for what trails we took. We had our dog off leash which was great for all of us. Not too busy or crowded. It was beautiful. We apparently went the opposite way most people do which means mostly uphill. They have maps available so you can plan your own route and it’s a lot of fun.

Nice place for a walk in the forest. Can bring your dog, off-leash. If you don’t like dogs, this is NOT the place to go.

The OSU McDonald Douglas forest is a research forest for the University. It's a lovely place to go for a Day hike. It's somewhat hilly terrain but not too terrible you can take young children here safely. There's also a pond and a vast variety of trees to see. It's a great place for a picnic or just to get a little nature in your heart. I recommend it.

An amazing gem to bike, hike and walk the dog. Never crowded. Easy access from different places. Easy and challenging hikes and trails. A year round place to explore.

Great to get out in nature. Opportunities to hike on gravel roadway or primitive trails. Quiet, expansive.

I could not have asked for a better place to do some trail running! Nicely made, wide paths for running, walking, walking your dog (s) and mountain biking. Beautiful forest landscape and even some spots to view the rolling hills and mountains. for about a week or so in the fall, they had OSU students there talking surveys to get peoples' opinions about the place and about what could be improved: great idea for community involvement.
