д.Мы вернемся.

Dear Jamie, thanks a lot for your comments. The truth is, this works very well with advanced golfers like you. I try to create a situation, in which you have to react in a certain way to get the ball to the target. This "certain way" in reality is good things that I want you to include in your swing. So it is not about micro-managing every little thing, but your subconscious will help you control everything without you noticing. In our Blog you can find an article about how to coordinate your golf swing. That might be very interesting for you. We loved to have you hear. Hope to see you here with the group soon. Also when you come with your group, ask us about additional "stuff to do, we have got a great list. best regards from little paradise Michel

Thank you, Anders Schönberg, for your very valuable comments. We appreciate positive comments and learn from the negative feedback. That much upfront: You came on the first day with chipping problems. Pitching needed real improvement, you could not hit the hybrid and the driver was more than errant. Your friend had little golf experience some years back and wanted to achieve the Platzreife/initial handicap in the end of the week. Results: gave you fix for chipping, fixed your pitching for good, on the third day you said that finally you are now able to hit the hybrid and the driver on the golf course, on the last day on the stairs you said to me that you were confident you could play a good round as practice was really good. On the last day you actually scored really well, 21 Stableford points on the 9 hole round. I consider this week a success - unlike you - not just because i helped your golfing, but because I gave you minimum information that did the maximum for you AND your friend. That’s what Golf Pros call coaching. This may all sound like a justification, which it is not. I'd like to explain to you that I put much more thoughts into your week than you acknowledge. The week was setup as a Platzreife week, mostly because your friend wanted to achieve Swiss Platzreife. He had nearly no experience in the beginning of the week, although talent. And you know what? I got him through just the correct way, he made his Platzreife in one week. I think that's awesome. It's far from normal to achieve that. → average instruction. To you: you said you got excellent information on the first day, but then nothing more. Maybe I did not like you? Unfortunately that's, at best, a wrong guess. I take my work very seriously and you will see why I did the week with you the way I did it. first 3 hour session: we worked on your chipping and pitching. My comments to you in short: improve your alignment and learn to use the bounce. Those things caused you all sorts of issues at impact. Then start practicing with different clubs on different targets to improve your ability to use the technique in different situations. Then we worked on your iron play and established cause and effect. Gave you a drill to work with. Higher and lower swinging to find out how the club reacts on the ground and eventually work the right amounts into your movement to be more consistent on the ground. Nothing wrong with this, as you said that you got great information the first day. → average instruction Additional days (Tuesday / Wednesday - 45 mins short game - 60 mins long game, played 2 holes:) We repeated chipping and pitching, where I hoped you would improve what we worked on and become more skillful. With minimal information I improved your hybrid and your driver which before you had a hard time to hit at all. That's part of teaching experience. Give the smallest information to achieve the goal. I think I did well with that too. Your feedback after the third day: yeah great, I can use those clubs now. That was my confirmation, that everything was going according to plan! Anders, in teaching I learnt not to be afraid of giving the same lesson again and again if I felt the golfer can still improve on the issue. It is not necessary to add crap to the golfers movement and then come up with new things to fix it again. I could not confirm now with 100% security, but I am pretty sure I told you during practice that this was for you the most important improvement in your swing to make impact more consistent - for the time I had with you. I wanted you to play well in the end of the week, so why should I give you more than you needed? I had probably about 3 hours of long game instruction in the whole week, that was for irons, hybrid and driver. The rest was short game and playing on the course and playing exams. In lessons we have two areas: technical improvements and gaining ability and confidence to perform. Once I can see changes made in a movement, I want the golfer to become more skillful. For that I don't give more technical changes but exercises which challenge your coordination! I need you to become better at doing the swing. Learning and practicing are different things. One is learning WHAT you have to do, the other is learning and becoming better at HOW TO do it. I actually thought your were a great beginner golfer and, over the course of the 4 days, I felt you did improve a lot. Actually the last day on the stairs I asked you, and you said that you were confident to play well that day. Which I took as a comment of satisfaction that you practiced well during the week and that you - at the same time - gained confidence. Regarding the stress on the golf course: the Swiss Golf Federation has set the standard for beginners golfers in playing a round of 9 holes in 2 hours 15 mins. if two players are playing. As teacher I must be able to make you aware of the fact that your play is too slow. And you then did play faster. That was great. In this situation you actually learnt some very valuable things: how to play faster even if you don't want or don't see it necessary. Yes you had a few bad shots (due to being angry) but on the next hole you adapted and that I thought was awesome from you! → unnecessary stressful on the golf course I am far from perfect, but if you make the work of the whole week depending on 5 seconds that you did not like, then I am really sorry. I should have told you to play faster AFTER the shot, not before. You are right. That's what I learn from this situation. I am sorry. Regarding the weeks planning you were obviously not happy with: I had my daughter flying in, which I have not seen for 2 month. She is 8 years old. I just can’t let her wait at the airport for 3 hours. It was rather unfortunate that exactly that day (thursday) we had - for the first time ever - temperature over 30 degrees. You must recognise, I could not have planned for that when flight bookings were made 2 months before. I planned your playing session in for 13 - 16.00. How should I know 2 months before, that exactly that day was going to be warm. I am really sorry for that, but I am a father and I have things that are important to me in my life. The last day was initially planned to be a playing round to achieve your Platzreife. It was not to be a Teaching Day. So I planned in one of our Pros, a certified Swiss PGA Pro to do the playing round with you. I figured that if I do my work well the first 4 days, you should be as well prepared as possible to play the round. The role of the Swiss PGA Pro during that round is controlling pace of play, rules and etiquette and control the results and the counting to establish a valid result in the end. For several reasons we had to change Golf Pros in the past during such rounds, and nobody ever complained NOR did it matter, because all the Pro has to do, is to control. Our Pro was ready to assist you technically if needed. By the way: congratulations on your 21 stableford points on the last day (for 9 holes)! That shows me, I wasn't all that wrong with my work. I actually made you playing better! → limited progress. All the best and thank you again for your feedback. Michel Monnard
