This was an excellent place to camp for a quiet stay. Pristine modern bathroom with 3 stalls and a lovely clean shower, coin operated. One side for men and one side for women.
Beautiful campground and beach and they are close together! Tenting sites are even available above the beach. Lake Manitoba was quite low when we were there but still great for kids. The water is crystal clear.

Booked online. When we arrived there was no one at the office but our name was on a clipboard on the bulletin board. The next day when the office was open, we received our camping permit. Firewood can be purchased from the little red barn from 5-8 pm as well as snacks and ice cream.
Fairly quiet at night. As the beach is west facing, the sunsets are gorgeous.

Watchhorn is a small quiet Provincial park located 11km down a gravel road from Hwy#6 and Moosehorn, MB. It has good size level lots, play structure, wood shed to buy wood for fires, and a small boat launch. The rock/sand beach is decent enough, though the water level varies with precipitation and even time of year. At the time of this review you needed to walk 150 yards to go deeper than your knees (adult). This provided a nice shallow of water which you could lie down with your head above water yet keep your body covered. Overall they could use more trees at the back of the eastern camp sites as many are wide open with no shade at anytime of day.
The main bathroom and showers are clean and well kept, and there are several outhouses located on the grounds. Water taps provide drinkable water and are located at various sites on campground. There are numerous paths to the beach though some do cut through other campsites.
If you are tenting then there are lake/beachfront sites available, serviced with 120 electrical. Just be certain to stake your tent down solidly as wind gusts from the lake can get quite strong.
RV/trailer sites can accommodate units up to about 30’, and are equipped with 120/220 electrical; however, there are no sewer or water serviced sites. It’s easier to fill your RV/trailer water tank, near the waste disposal as you won’t block other camping sites.
For watercraft enthusiasts there is a small inlet from which you can launch your craft to access the lake. You are limited to small craft as anything bigger than 16’ could be difficult to launch into the water.

Happy camping

We stayed at #55 walk-in site. Everyone uses the site as walk-in access to the beach, despite the beach access being on the other side of the campground. People walk right into the site, in between tents, even right next to us as we sat by the fire pit. We tried to block off the side facing the trail behind us with a clothesline but that only made things worse. Our fire pit was stacked with garbage and a dirty diaper to boot. Both adults and kids walked into the site. If you’re looking for privacy and some common sense, respecting people’s space and in light of covid distancing, DO NOT stay here! Also, party started at 11pm lasted until 4am, loud music, drunk ppl driving in the park at all hours of night but no one works there at night or services the outhouses. No outlet to complain or report noise either. Most of the walk-in sites appeared to be used as beach access by everyone in the campground who camped behind them. #56 is more private and has some shade covering but there’s no pics of it online....we chose #55 because there were pics but #56 is worth the gamble and if you set up your tents and clothesline in a certain way could deter ppl from waking through, but many are just ignorant...honestly, Watchorn is not worth your money or time. Stay somewhere else or day trip it, beach and lake are alright.

I truly loved this campground. It is so small. Most sights are open without too many trees. Backs onto farmland. It felt kind of weird driving out to the campground on gravel roads in no where. Walking distance to beach, showers and the fire wood is free. The stars are amazing. There is a marsh to kayak in. No fishing. This is located on Lake Manitoba and you can walk out forever and still be only at your knees in the water. Nice sunsets. Tenting sites are right onto the water, they really are the best. So easy to park with a big camper. Lots of rocks to pick on the beach. Saw a garder snake swim past me in the water. Besides the snake I think it is one of my favorite spots!

We used Watchorn as an overnight stay on our way north in Manitoba on Highway 6 - the Park is 11 kilometers off Highway 6 on a gravel road. We decided to skip our reservation on our return trip and keep going. The campsites are very exposed for the most part, and most are smaller than average. We camped on the Eastern side which was right next to the gravel access road to the boat launch, and every time a vehicle passed by we were choked with dust. They should but some dust suppression down. There is only one flush toilet for each sex, and the biffys provided were overwhelmingly stinky and dirty - like they never get serviced. The boat launch does not have a dock. The shore of Lake Manitoba is nice enough, but there are far better beaches in Manitoba.

We got trapped in a storm and had to pull over and wait it out so we didn't make it to our original destination but we lucked out and got the last site available on the long weekend at about 10pm. Despite having to set up camp in the dark and get a fire going after some rain we ended up still having a lovely night. The campsites are very large... we had one tiny backpacking tent so it looked a bit funny however we noticed a lot of campers and RV's which would be perfect for this spot. There is not a lot of privacy though, each site is very open to the next. There are nice clean actual washrooms and showers that accept loonies and toonies to get cleaned up which was a really nice perk to have. There is also the beach right by there to walk in the lake. I'd recommend going for sure.
