A must see in Catanduanes. As equally stunning as the viewpoints in Batanes. Make sure to go early in the morning as the weather can be warm up.

A must-visit in Catanduanes. Entrance fee was P20 and tour guide fee is P250. You have to trek for 10 minutes before reaching the rolling hills.

I arranged a trike to pick me up at 5am from my hotel at Puraran. My objective was to experience sunrise at Binurong Point. At the registry desk I paid 10 pesos for parking, 25 pesos for entry fee and 200 pesos for the Guide (paid at the end). Unfortunately, some light rain had made the tracks through people's private properties rather slippery making the walk longer than usual. It took about 45 minutes. As a consequence, I arrived at the point about 10-15 minutes after the sun had risen. I was bitterly disappointed.
The Guide shooed the cows away. He told me they will sometimes bluff charge if you get too close to their young ones. There are different viewpoints you can walk to. Great scenic coastline for photos. It can get pretty windy. Very scenic surroundings.
I was glad I visited but I'll never forget getting up early in the morning and missing the sunrise.

Binurong Point is a must visit attraction in Catanduanes. It must NOT be missed. There is a 25 pesos fee per person to enter and 200 for the guide to be paid after the tour to the guide directly.
It will take 20 to 30 minutes of hiking to reach binurong point and more walking if you want to see the rock formations up close. Be sure to wear Rubber Shoes and bring water.
Enjoyed Binurong Point a lot! Be sure to take a lot of pictured or ask the guide to be your photographer, they know how to take pictures!

Day 2 of our Catanduanes Adventure,we planned to visit this tourist spot as it is near our first destination,Baras.Intriguingly it was closed for several months when it was gaining popularity and reopened for the public just last December 2018.Upon entering you will be asked for a 10 peso entrance fee which later on i found out was really should have been "gate pass" then parking fee of 20pesos formy MC and another entrance fee of very minimal amount,25 pesos i think per pax and environmental fee of 5 pesos.Good thing we came across with a couple so we shared for the tour guide and paid only 100 pesos for me and my budd for the tour guide. It was worth the trek, all you need is a good leg for the 30-45 mins hike.A good camera for the selfies and sights.and helpful if you can bring a canteen for water.its a must that we obey our Tour Guide, other than that, just enjoyed the beauty of Binurong Point and the Pacific Ocean! Reminders not to leave your trash too.

Howling winds naturally carved the breathtaking coastlines of Catanduanes. Binurong Point in barangay Guinsaanan in the town of Baras is one of those. Binurong’s so serene and visually satisfying. 180 degrees of picturesque natural wonder. I felt so envious of the people of Catanduanes since postcard / IG worthy places are conveniently within reach. From the capital, Virac, it's around an hour or so away. Then if from Puraran Beach, it's roughly 30 mins motorbike ride. (Actual visit May 2017)

The second leg of my Bicol Express trip is The province of Catanduanes, An island on the eastern seaboard of the Philippines. Its rugged coast slammed the the harsh waves of the Pacific Ocean. The island is sometimes dubbed as Batanes of Catanduanes, because of its similar features to Batanes group of islands in the Northernmost tip of the Philippines. It is also called as the Irish coast of the Philippines because of its rock cliffs that meets the ocean.
Of particular interest to me is Binurong Point, in Baras, Catanduanes. Its a 30-minute hike for experienced hikers and may take a little longer depending on your physical condition. In general, its an easy trail without steep inclines. The best time to go up is at 4:30am at dawn to catch the sunrise while at the Point. This activity is for hikers, nature lovers and for those who are curious to try hiking/trekking. This will leave you feeling good and asking for more. So go on to the next hike which is more challenging, the Bote Lighthouse.mits about 2-3 hours hike.
On the way to Baras from Virac, you will pass by a beautiful old church, calle Bato Church. Its made of stone without steel and concrete.
You can fly from Manila straight to Virac or you can take a bus. The bus will be loaded to a ferry upon reaching the port of Tabaco, Albay and will dock at the port of San Andres or in Virac, Catanduanes. If you have more time, you can soend a day or 2 in Legazpi. If you have more time, you can also go to the Province of Sorsogon.
Bus fare from Manila to Virac is from PHP 875-1300 depending on the bus line of your choice and the amenities. Ferry fare is separate.
There is PHP 20 environmental fee at Binurong Point.

Yes, two words to perfectly and honestly describe this place - it’s amazingly beautiful! The view is breathtaking. From Puraran beach, take a 20-30 minutes ride to the start of a fantastic adventure. Talk to the locals about entrance or environmental fees. Be sure you bring water or cash to buy from a store at the entrance. The assigned tour guide for 200 pesos will lead the 20-30 minutes trail walk up to the Binurong Point. There are no trees at the Point so wear a cap or hat. It could rain on the way up or down so it would help to bring a raincoat unless you like the experience of getting soaked which is more fun I guess. If you are lucky you will probably meet the guide dog named Digong. Must add to your bucket list.
