Hi everyone. Looking for a hotel in Venice for one night at the end of our cruise in May this year. Was looking at the Gritti and it looks fabulous! A few questions as I'm just starting my research. How do we get from the cruise port in Venice to the hotel and also what are our options for getting to the Venice airport? TIA for all input!
Definitely private water taxi if just for the experience. Also, if you have the hotel book it they will add it to your bill so that you can obtain points if paying with Marriott credit card.
Thanks everyone for all the replies!!!
Everyone is right: water taxi is the way to go. I'd just ask the hotel to call a water taxi; it's a lot cheaper.
Water Taxis would be best and you can check with the Gritti as they could arrange transfers both ways for you.
A private water taxi is the best option especially going to the airport. If you are staying at the Gritti they will arrange it for you. Have a wonderful time the Gritti Palace is absolutely out of this world.
Either private or public water taxi. Enjoy Venice. It's a wonderful city.
Water taxis are the only answer to getting around quickly in Venice from the port to the Gritti Palace. The hotel has their own water taxi but there are also private water taxis to hire or a public water bus
The Gritti is best accessed by water taxi to its own private dock. And departed from same dock to airport also by water taxi. I feel if you are going to pay for Gritti Palace, might as well pay for the experience of in/out by water taxi (because taxi is worth it, and experience can’t be beat).
