We loved staying at Carolina Oaks..there are others in the area..but we chose this Original 1905 House..price good too! Having hard time leaving a review on trip advisor..so call them for info and reservation.
We stayed for 3 nights in May 2019. The hosts were friendly, breakfasts plentiful and cooked to order. We could have spent all 3 days on the porches. Remember this is South Carolina and not Georgia on your nav system.
My husband and I stayed at Carolina Oaks for three nights during The Masters golf tournament. You are welcomed with a bottle of champagne which was an unexpected perk we really enjoyed. We stayed in Room 4- The Masters room. All guest rooms are upstairs. The Masters room is at the back side of the house. You walk through the door (with a code lock) and there is a short hallway. To the right is the bedroom and to the left is the bathroom. The bedroom has a king sized bed and three beautiful large windows that overlook the back yard and side yard/driveway. The mattress was comfortable. We also liked that we had our own thermostat and a ceiling fan. The room also has a large tv. I guess the only critique we would give is to add a few more HD channels. We did not spend much time in the room watching tv so the standard cable was more than adequate for us. The entire bathroom has been renovated and has a nice spa tub/shower combo. Valerie left some soap and bath products which we were grateful for. We typically stay in hotels when we travel so didn’t think to pack soap and lotion. But Val provided plenty. We liked that we had the little hallway and separate bedroom and bathroom because it made us feel like we had more space. The house itself is a beautiful, old South Carolina home. It has a wrap around porch on the front and a nice patio area off the back. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch with some fellow house mates enjoying some drinks at night. The breakfast food is delicious. Joe is a gifted chef and cooked exactly to our preferences. You fill out a preference sheet each night by 9pm indicating exactly what you want for breakfast and what time. Two mornings we sat down and enjoyed a beautifully presented delicious meal. One morning we wanted to leave the house by 7am to head to Augusta National. We asked if Joe could make us bacon/egg/cheese sandwiches to go so we could sleep a few extra minutes versus getting up and sitting down for breakfast. When we were ready to leave we found a nice bag with our breakfast sandwiches and to-go coffee ready for us. The course is about a 15 minute drive so perfect amount of time to eat on the way. Val and Joe were accommodating in every way. They gave us directions to the course with a route the locals use. We were able to avoid so much of the golf traffic; it easily saved us 20-25 minutes. They also gave us dinner recommendations. We made reservations before we arrived and all recommendations did not disappoint. It’s nice being in the North Augusta area during the Masters. Trust me there are plenty of spectators but it’s not as crowded as staying in Augusta itself. It’s nice to be able to drive 15 minutes away and be out of the chaos surrounding Augusta National. And there are at least a dozen good restaurant options within 5 minutes from the house. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carolina Oaks and would absolutely stay there again. Highly recommended!…
We stayed here for 1 night during the golf tournament. Beautiful older historic home. The owners are really friendly & accommodating. The rooms are very nice. Spacious & clean. Our queen bed was super comfy. There were a few other couples on the guest floor with us. Everyone was relaxed & having a nice time. The owners definitely go the extra mile with extras like bottled water, coffee, tea, fruit & snacks at all times. I love it that they allowed us to do our own thing, yet they were available if we needed anything at all. The owners made great recommendations for how to get around town easily to avoid golf traffic. One of the owners is also a fabulous chef & made an amazing breakfast for 6 guests at an unspeakable hour so we could all get to the course early. Food was fantastic & everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. The location of the B&B is perfect too. Just 10 minutes at most from the course and everything else downtown Augusta has to offer. I am sure this place will be great to visit at any time of the year. I will return when in the area and bring some friends. Love this place.…
